Simple to make, insanely satisfying and made from relatively cheap ingredients. And they freeze well too, so you could always have them available.

Ingredients:

  • 240 gr. flax seeds

  • 30 gr. psyllium

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 320 ml. lukewarm water

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to about 190 degrees
  • Grind the flaxseeds to a fine flour
  • Add the rest of the dry ingredients to the flour and mix well.
  • Slowly add the water until you get a uniform dough that is easy to work with.
  • With wet hands, divide the dough and make buns. (Don’t be tempted to make large buns:) These buns are very satisfying and if they are “regular” size, it’s just too much! From my experience, divide into 6-8 pieces)
  • Cut slits in the buns to reduce air bubbles. Brush with water or egg and sprinkle with a seed mixture according to your taste.

  • Bake the buns for about 50 minutes and let them cool completely
